Different types of Dental Implants

Dental implants have proved to be one of the best, long-lasting, and safest tooth replacement option. Now, missing teeth is no more a problem for your daily activities. Dental implants give back your smile, favorite food, and your lost confidence. Everyone does not need the same kind of implant. It can vary from person to person. There are mainly two types of dental implants given below:

1 . Endosteal Dental Implants

These are the most common and often used type of dental implants. They are used in the two-stage dental implant process. They are given the shape of screws and are made up of titanium. With surgery, it is placed into your jawbone. Over the implant, temporary teeth are placed and you get your beautiful smile.

After a few months or weeks, with periodic checks by your dentist, your mouth will be in a healing process. A minor procedure will be done to fix the dental plant abutment and dental crown after the healing process. This type of implant is for patients who have healthy jawbones or who want bone grafting.

2 . Subperiosteal Dental Implants

These types of dental implants are made up of metal framework and not small screws. They are placed on the top of your jawbone instead of placing it into your jaw. This type of implants is exposed in order to hold your bridge or crown. This is for the patients who have unhealthy jawbone and who do not want to have a bone grafting procedure done. This is a single-stage implant procedure. This option is for the ones who want to get a full set of dentures instead of getting typical dental implants.
